PitchIt Marketing Begins

I am happy to report that I have decided on the name PitchIt Marketing.  As you know, people come to me because of what is in my head, but I still think a catchy name is important.  I went round and round about what type of name to choose and kept coming back to PitchIt.  Let me know what you think of this one, I am open to suggestions.

It's Been A While

It has been quite a while since my last post, a lot has happened:

- Several months ago, I began a regular marketing blog.  Each week I write two articles about content marketing and other online strategies.  The website is BrianNewmark.guru, if you have not seen it, take a look.  The feedback has been very good.

- I left my full time position at Brand, but have maintained my relationship with the team there, which is helpful for my clients.

- I've been working on several exciting projects, unfortunately they are in early stage, so I'll have to wait to share the real details, but I can share a bit:

  • One of the projects involves promoting a book, which is sure to be a best seller.  I've been working with the author who is a high profile individual.  With some ingenuity, I think I've come up with a no-fail way to get the whole country talking about it.  Some of the press will be negative, some will be positive, but in the PR world, all press is good press.
  • A very high traffic website has approached me about building up a new section for them.  Based on my expertise, I can not only develop a tremendous amount of content, but also monetize the site (one of my specialties).
  • A team I am a part of is bidding on another large project overseas.  This will be an exciting year long project requiring some interesting travel.  Maybe I'll finally have to spend some money on Rosetta Stone.
  • There is a company based on Canada which has several exciting products coming to marketing in the near future.  I've been part of the marketing development team working on the strategy.  This may be the most exciting project on my plate as there is huge opportunity here.
In addition to these exciting projects, I've been busy working on some small online marketing tasks which are keeping me busy.  That plus enjoying the summer and doing some traveling has been great!

Brian Newmark is feeling GOOD!

I just shared the following comments on my Google Plus page Brian Newmark on Google+
Update 3/26/2014 from Brian Newmark personally.  I am very happy to report that the past year has been one of tremendous accomplishment for me.  Yes, I know there is tons of content on the web touting my Brian Newmark did this or Brian Newmark did that, but so many of those thing are just that, things.  A moment in time of accomplishment.  All through my 20s I felt I could accomplish anything, somewhat of a prodigy.  Things slowed down in my 30s and I hit some speed bumps.  Now in my 40s I am really feeling like I have my mojo back and it is really nice.
It is nice to feel good and positive about where your life is, where you have been and where you are going.  I know life is fluid and  there will certainly be speed bumps in the road ahead, but I will do everything possible to enjoy the good times now and I'll also have better confidence next time the challenge arises that good times are ahead. - Thanks for reading - Brian Newmark 3/26/2014

Favorite Quote of the moment: "All Men Make Mistakes, But Only Wise Men Learn From Their Mistakes."

Last week I got a fortune cookie, inside said: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

I like everyone, have had many ups and downs in life, but what has kept me going strong and moving forward is always looking to where I want to go, what it will look like and the steps necessary to get there.  Sometimes the glasses are a bit foggy, but overall, the vision is clear.  Work with excellence, don't be afraid to take risks and stay focused on where you are going.  Oh, and one more thing, keep your priorities straight, family is the most important thing.

Public Sentiment

Being asked to measure, monitor, and sway public sentiment is becoming an increasingly important aspect of my business.  I met with someone else today from an extremely large organization who wants my assistance on this.  When I shared that we can measure what people are saying and develop a measure of sentiment not just on Twitter or Facebook, but across nearly the entire web he was thrilled.  Having access to such analytics is extremely valuable to companies, organizations, and governments.
